The Tess LED Light Bulb is a bright, efficient LED bulb that is a direct replacement for both incandescent bulbs and CFLs. Tess Bulbs are available in several wattages and use less than 20% of the electricity of an incandescent bulb. This UL-listed LED Light Bulb has an E26 base (the most common screw-in base bulb, also known as E27), which means it will fit into almost any lamp, ceiling fixture, or spot light in your home or business where you would use a standard screw mount bulb. This LED replacement bulb uses Cree LEDs, so it's a cutting-edge fixture that's leading the revolution against carbon emissions.

Each of these LED replacement bulbs is equivalent in brightness to a standard incandescent bulb:

  • the 6 Watt Tess is equivalent to a standard 30W incandescent bulb
  • the 7 Watt Tess = a 40W incandescent
  • the 9 Watt Tess = a 60W bulb
  • the 12 Watt Tess = a 75W light bulb

The Tess Bulb is available in warm white and neutral white color temperatures. The warm white color is equivalent to the soft white light emitted by commonly used incandescent bulbs in living spaces. The neutral white is equivalent to the light commonly produced by CFLs in workspaces and bathrooms.

The Tess uses Cree LEDs, which are known industry-wide as the brightest and most efficient LED chips available. This LED replacement bulb is ideal for use in any room in the house, not to mention a retail store, restaurant, or office—anywhere that requires a good old light bulb. The Tess LED light bulb gives you the same level and warmth of light as an incandescent or CFL at a fraction of the cost, and is even more efficient than a CFL.

  5. Tess LED bulbs @Elemental LED

Reviewed on January 18, 2012 by Tom

I am a former electronic technician and I have purchased over half a dozen Tess LED bulbs. I have to say they are the best, brightest and cheapest over all the "Big" names out there. What I like about Elemental LED is, they have the lowest price on these bulbs that I have seen, at least 30% lower than other companies I have purchased from. I also like Elemental LED's overall attitude...keep up the good work.
  6. Bright bulb

Reviewed on December 22, 2011 by Bradley

I bought six of these bulbs on the Black Friday sale and am very pleased with them. They are brighter than the "60W equivalent" CFL's they replaced. The one downside to the bulb is that the light is directional. It feels off when I turn on the lights for my ceiling fan because the ceiling isn't illuminated with these bulbs. I don't need to see the ceiling so it isn't a problem, but it could be for some uses.
  7. LED Bright Bulb

Reviewed on December 9, 2011 by S Suzanne

This bulb puts out a very bright light--but due to the current design of LED bulbs, the light is focused in the direction you place the "top" of the bulb (the opposite end from the base). I used them in some porch lighting fixtures--so the light is directed downward along the wall to the porch floor, rather than diffusing outward through the fixture housing. But, it still provides a lot of light.

Only had about a month. Feels a bit more plastic-y than my Philips LED bulb equivalents but so far so good.
  9. Excellent Bulb

Reviewed on March 17, 2011 by Roy Aycock

I have purchased 6 of these bulbs. Although they are a bit pricey, they perform much better than any other bulb that I have tried. The ones with the color rating around 5000 k is the best and brightest. I have tried Sylvania, Phillips, and several other brands that are yellow tinted but this one by far outshines them all. If you are looking for the brightest and white light, then this is the one.

  1. Are Tess LED lightbulbs dimmable?

From Guest at 12/14/10 9:33 AM
Tess bulbs are currently not dimmable.
  2. Will your SKU: EL-TESS lamps work satisfactorily with most dimmer switches that were designed for incandescents? If only some switches, which?

From Guest at 12/14/10 1:18 PM
Unfortunately the Tess bulb is not dimmable, no matter what dimming system you would be using.
  3. What is the CRI for this bulb?

From Guest at 12/15/10 11:38 AM
The CRI numbers for the Tess bulb are 80 (warm white) and 75 (neutral white).
  4. Can the SKU: EL-TESS 12W bulb be used in an outdoor lighting fixture if installed under eaves?

From Steven at 7/24/12 8:40 PM
The Tess LED light bulbs are not water resistant, however, if you are confident that they will not be coming in contact with any water, they should be just fine

    Thank you
  5. Can I use them to replace incandescent bulbs in an enclosed ceiling light fixture (I need 3 bulbs)? They do not generate heat, do they?

From Guest at 10/9/12 12:24 PM
The Tess LED Light Bulb is a direct replacement for both incandescent bulbs and CFLs. It will generate very little heat [considerably less than an incandescent bulb]
  6. How is the light dispersed from the unit? It looks as though it would be mostly away from the base. Unlike a typical incandescent, which produces light in all directions.

From Erik at 3/12/13 1:34 PM
You are correct, LEDs and Incandescent bulbs are extremely different. There is always a beam angle associated with LEDs. The beam angle on this bulb is 120° and will not project in the 360° you are used to.
