In order to get top performance from your LED lighting, it is crucial to ensure a steady voltage. Our 10 Watt 12V DC Mini Driver provides steady voltage along with high efficiency, so you will not only get the most from your LED lights (or non-LEDs), but you will also see savings on your power bill when it comes to running the light and producing less heat. All our 12V LED drivers are energy efficient, eco-friendly, and safe.

If you’re working with a permanent home installation, it’s vital to use the Mini Driver as it provides an extremely steady current. It is a hard wired power source that is nonetheless flexible: if you're using it in new construction or renovation, it can easily be placed out of sight in a wall or ceiling as well as in the attic or under the house. But the real advantage of our 12V mini driver is that it's compact enough to tuck into a corner, in a shelf or under a cabinet, or even in a light box or large picture frame, so you can avoid making holes in the wall to light your home.

Our 12V Mini Drivers are available in 10W (0.83 A), 6W (0.5 A) and 3W (0.25A). 10 watts will power 6 feet of our Flexible LED Lights, 6 watts will power 3 feet and 3 watts will power almost 2 feet of strip lighting.

This driver features short circuit and overload protection, and is RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant, ensuring that no toxic materials were used in its manufacture.

  1. Does the power supply, per its listing, have to be installed in an electrical junction box?

Building codes differ from state to state and may have requirements about installing power supplies, but as long as the connections of the driver are correct and properly insulated, it is safe to install 12V drivers outside of a junction box.
  2. How far can the conductors run from the power supply to the LED's without too much voltage drop to prevent the LED's from lighting?

Voltage drop varies, with more drop from higher-wattage drivers, and less from lower-wattage drivers. Our general rule of thumb is that voltage drop won't be a factor with distances less than 50 feet between power source and fixture.
