This RGB bulb does not require an external controller and you can create fantastic color-changing effects just by using the included remote control. When used with the included infrared remote control, this bulb features an autosave memory to remember the last setting when the bulb is powered off! This GU-5.3 LED bulb features 16 individual colors that can be chosen individually in static mode, or displayed in 4 different color-changing modes: 7 color flashing, 7 color fading, strobe, and red/green/blue flashing. This color-changing MR-16 LED Track Light is equivalent to the bulbs commonly found in 12V track lighting systems, and is a safer and more efficient alternative to the hot halogen track lights of ten years ago.

These color changing lights are just what I needed in my living room to accent a mirrored picture. They work great, and are easy to install. I am very pleased with their performance, and ease of use.
Please Note: This bulb has an autosave memory to remember the last setting when the bulb is powered off ONLY when it is powered off with the included remote control. Powering the bulb off with an external wall switch will erase the last setting, and the bulb will revert to the random strobe setting.

Can the fade speed be controlled?

In my application, I'm looking for a slow enough color change that it isn't immediately noticeable. Say, a switch from yellow to red in 1 minute or more.
Thanks!You can't control the fade speed on this bulb. It has a slow fade, but it's 5-10 seconds, not a full minute. But any of our RGB Strip Lights, Light Bars, and color-changing wall washers can be setup with a DMX controller, which gives you full control over all the elements of the color, speed, brightness, and pattern. Will this bulb fit into an MR-16 recessed housing?

If the housing is on a dimmer, would that create problems?This bulb is 2 inches in diameter and 1.8 inches deep (not including the pins), so you can use these dimensions to verify this against the size of the housing you will use.
We do not recommend dimming these track lights with a household dimmer. Bulbs can be dimmed individually with the included remote and, if the lights are close enough to each other, it may be possible to dim several simultaneously. -
Can more than one lamp be controlled with a single remote? I would like to use at least 6 lamps on one remote.

Thanks!The remote control system can be used on multiple bulbs, you would have to aim the remote at each individual bulb in order to change the colors. The purchase 6 bulbs will provide you with 6 total remote controls as they are bundled in a set. -

From Asad at 9/23/12 1:21 PMThe RGB MR-16's have an effective projection distance of roughly 6-8 feet. With their beam angle of 38°, then the effective coverage of the light will be roughly 4-7 feet in diameter.

I want to use just one of these bulbs in a single fixture socket, does such a socket exist? or will I need the RGB LED Light Bulb?
From Cenzy at 3/26/13 3:35 PMI believe that single MR-16 fixtures exist, and may be readily available from a local Lighting Showroom. If you find a MR-16 fixture, these RGB MR-16 bulbs should fit into it without issue.
