The RGB Extension Cable is a great accessory that offers the flexibility you need in a large full color LED installation. Whether you need to have two areas of a large room accented with full color LED light, but want them on the same color controller, or you want to set up parallel runs of RGB strip, this extension cable allows you create space between Color Changing LED light bars, RGB Puck Lights, or sections of Flexible RGB Light Strip. The RGB Extension Cable is available in 3 foot, 9 foot, and 16 foot lengths, and features both a male and female version of Elemental's RGB Light Bar plug, which pops right into the plug that is hardwired on our 8" and 20" REVOLUME RGB LED Fixture.

And this cable also works with KOLORIS RGB strips. The RGB Extension Cable can be used in conjunction with the RGB Strip to Bar Connector to create a large color-changing LED installation. Perhaps you need to install 30 feet of RGB strip lighting on the same color controller. Because the signal from a color controller can reach a maximum of 16 feet of RGB strip light, the Strip to Bar connector would connect the additional 14 foot section of strip to a 16.5 foot Extension Cable to create a parallel run. With the use of this simple connector and the extension cable, you can have a large multi-color LED light show, all commanded by the same controller.

  1. I want to run 3 16ft RGB 5050 LED strips around my ceiling. Ideally, I would have a single power supply/driver at one end. Can I use this product to connect the second and third strips by using one extension cable to drive the second strip and two in series to drive the third?

It would be recommended to install these extension cables in one of two ways.

1)Run the RGB Extension Cable back to the Color Controller from each 16' Strip of RGB LED's you are installing. This will make them effectively wired in parallel, and so will not have any voltage drop. (After 20 feet of LED Strip Light you will encounter voltage drop)

    2) Install an RGB Signal Amplifier between each Strip Light. This will allow you to inject voltage into the line directly from the Driver, allowing you to continue up to 20 feet further on the line. These Signal Amplifiers may receive their power from either the main Driver that is running the rest of the installation, or they may receive power from a secondary Driver located closer to the unit.

    Thank you.
