This September 2—7, Berlin is hosting the International Franchise Association Trade Show, the word’s largest trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances. LED lighting fixtures are expected to be an important part of the show, with LG, Verbatim, Vizio and the Heinrich Hertz Institute (to name a few) unveiling new LED lighting products at the show. For instance, Heinrich Hertz will be displaying LED lights that transmit broadband communication, a novel invention we reported on last year, which looks like it will now be making it’s way into the mainstream.
And for LED outdoor fixtures as well as smart phones, UK-based P2i will be unveiling a nanocoating that protects electronic devices from water, salts and harsh outdoor environments like never before. “Show visitors will be able to witness the ‘magic’ of Aridion™ in action at P2i’s booth – water simply forms beads and rolls off protected items, leaving no trace. Aridion™ technology creates a complete nanoscopic protective coating for consumer electronics devices such as smart phones and MP3 players. By providing superior liquid repellency Aridion™ effectively fights corrosion, thus substantially reducing warranty failure and repair costs,” according to Nano Werk. SavWatt, for one, is a company that will be harnessing this new technology and using it in LED outdoor fixtures. They will be showing these new, tougher, nano-coated LED fixtures at IFA 2011.
