It looks like the US isn’t the only place where LED lighting statistics are on the rise. In China, thanks especially to government support of the growing industry, the LED lighting market is poised to rise to $5.8 billion in 2011. That’s up 23 percent from 2010, according to the IHS iSuppli China Electronics Supply Chain Service, an information and analysis provider.
And it’s not going to stop there. “The LED market in the world’s most populous country is forecast to reach $6.9 billion next year on its way to $11.1 billion by 2015, equivalent to a five-year compound annual growth rate of 17.7%,” according to PCB Design.
IHS states that the Chinese LED market is driven mainly by LDC displays, street lighting and automotive use, although it also encompasses “handset key pads, digital still camera flashlights, decorative lighting and general illumination.”
Despite this enormous growth, China is still “in its infancy,” when compared to the LED market in the United States, says PCB Design.
No matter which way you slice it, Elemental LED is happy to be a part of such a growing and thriving industry, and we’re pleased to offer products like LED light strips and LED light bulbs to our eco-conscious and forward-thinking customer base.
