The Ecology Center is having a party today to celebrate their Farm Fresh Choice program.  Farm Fresh Choice is the Ecology Center’s Food Justice Program that is bringing healthy, nutritious and organic food into the community.  The program engages low-income residents of south and west Berkeley in reclaiming their optimal nutrition.  Through partnerships with local organic farms, Farm Fresh Choice is able to get healthy, nutritious food into after school programs and farmers markets and hold workshops that educate the community on the benefit of a healthy diet.

Today the Ecology Center is holding a holiday reunion party where everyone is invited to enjoy the food, entertainment and check out the all the new initiatives Farm Fresh Choice will be developing next year.  There will also be a raffle where you can get a chance to win some really cool prizes.  There is a suggested donation of $5 to get in, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.  The party will be held from 6:30 – 9:30 this evening at the Ecology Center.  Ecology Center, 2530 San Pablo Ave, near Dwight Way, Berkeley.

If you have not been to the Ecology Center, this is a great opportunity to check them out.  I have been to some of their climate action meetings and the center is full of cool green products, information on green initiatives, and plenty of friendly people committed to encouraging sustainability in the Bay Area.
