  2. Great Lights

Reviewed on September 18, 2012 by Bart

The lighting is perfect for our new kitchen. Easily concealed and smooth operation with the 12 dimmable driver. However, I recommend soldering wires at joints and not using the clip-on connectors as they are sometimes difficult to maintain a connection. Not a showstopper though and I'm pleased with the overall results.

Rock solid product, easy to install and looks fantastic. The hardest part of the job was figuring out where to pull electricity from. Everything else was a breeze!
  5. High Density Flexible LED Strip

Highly recommended. We installed the lights under the cabinets in our kitchen with recommended dimmer switch. I love these lights because the provide plenty of light with great coverage of the work space because you can cut the tape to pretty much any length. Tape adheres very well to cabinets. Connections are easy to make with recommended connectors.
  6. Perfect Even Lighting

Reviewed on September 27, 2011 by Dan Nelson

I just installed the high density flexible led strip light (warm white) for a customer and, WOW! We used it on the top of a wall of book cases and it shed a perfect amount of EVEN light. This product was very easy to work with and I especially liked being able to cut it to an exact length. As a LICENSED ELECTRICIAN, I have worked with many lighting products and I can say 100% that I will be installing this product in the home that my wife and I are currently building.

  1. Regarding the High Density LED light strip which operates at 75 degrees F: How far from other surfaces does it need to be for heat safety issues? I've seen it's application in plastic lightboxes and am curious about what the fireproofing procedures are. Thank you for your time.

From Guest at 9/27/11 5:48 PM
We can't make any specific recommendations, but if the strip is more than an inch or two away from the surface, there should be no problem. 75 degrees F is the median operating temperature for the High Density Strip. Ventilating any space where the light is is also a good idea, mostly to preserve the life of the LEDs.
  2. I need to make a 90 degree bend and the shortest connector is 2 feet. I need the strips to butt at the bend do you offer a shorter 90 degree connector?

From Chas at 8/18/12 5:29 AM
Yes, a 3 inch version is available, see the Length dropdown.
  3. What is the Max length per transformer? Can a traditional 120 dimmer be used on the power side of the transformer?

From Bob at 8/20/12 12:13 PM
The maximum length of strip you may place on a driver would depend on the wattage capacity of the driver and the wattage use of the strip. You may not use a traditional 120v dimmer on the power side of the transformer

    Thank you
  4. The distance from one of my strips will be 16 feet from where the transformer will be placed. Is this a problem and what is the impact?

From Bob at 8/20/12 12:14 PM
This should not cause a problem as long as you are using 16/2 gauge wire to complete that connection

    Thank you
  5. installed the lights asked when I purchased about a dimmer swithch, was told I could get a Luton, it does not work.

  6. I am using pulseworx upb switching and controls. Can I use these to control and dim the leds?

From niki at 4/15/13 10:21 AM
Being that we do not sell pulseworx upb switches, we have not tested those products. We can never guarantee compatibility with our strips or drivers when using outside products.
