Elemental LED is transitioning to the new Clicktight™ Strip Light Connectors. If you don't see the size you need here, please go to the Clicktight™ Strip Light Splice DC Plug Connector page.

With the Flexible LED Strip Light DC Plug Connector, Elemental has a solution for connecting our Standard Single Color and Brighter Flexible LED Strip Lights to a power source, a special solder cable that eliminates the need to solder. The Flexible LED Strip Light DC Plug Connector joins our LED strip lighting with a 12V DC adapter, and features our Flexible LED strip light connector at one end, and a 1/4 inch DC coaxial plug at the other.

This LED connector is available in three versions that fit different strips:

  • a standard size that is compatible with only our 0.3 inch wide standard Flexible Light Strips, High Density Strip Lights, and Softview™ Strips
  • a brighter size that fits both our 0.4 inch wide Brighter Strip Lights and High Density 12V Brighter Strip, as well as standard Flexible, High Density, and Softview™ Strips
  • a double wide size that fits Double Wide High Density LED Strip Lights

Using this connector couldn't be simpler. Instructions for use:

  1. Determine which end of the strip matches the polarity of the connector (that is, properly align the + and - of each)
  2. Pull the brown tabs out, away from the connector
  3. Slide one end of the Flexible LED Strip Light into the small LED molex clamp
  4. Using care, firmly secure the clamp with the two small brown tabs by squeezing them toward the LED strip.
  5. Plug in your DC adapter!

I ordered this for the high density lights and the locking feature won't work. Still functional and I should have checked before ordering.

  6. Excellent product

I am very happy with my light strip. I use it to illuminate my hideaway computer keyboard and it works perfectly. If only it came with an on-off switch. I power it on/off by just plugging in or out the connection jack so, yes, a switch would be a nice addition.
  7. flexible LED strip light plug connector

Reviewed on December 10, 2011 by John

The product works very well the only thing I would change for my application is make the wire long enough to tie a loose knot in so it won't pull thru a hole and loosen the sticky back on the lights. Good product though.

  1. I recently bought and now testing Flexible LED Strip lights (2-16' spools) with 12v adaptors and DC plug connectors. However, after about 20seconds of being plugged in, the lights start flashing. On for 2sec / off for 2sec. The lights are to be on continuously. How can this be changed?

Our in-house engineer is guessing that you might be overdriving the power supply, so that it can't provide
enough current. It's either going into thermal or overcurrent shutdown. For this reason, we recommend that our power supplies be loaded to only 80% of their capacity. If this doesn't resolve the problem, please contact us again.
