This LED RGB DMX Decoder with XLR Ports is an essential tool in a dynamic multi-color LED lighting system, and allows a digital RGB lighting control system to send commands to your full color LED light fixtures. The DMX Decoder with XLR provides a necessary interface between our LED DMX Controller, or lighting control software, and color-changing LED lighting, allowing for full control of color and other variables in your LED lights. This 3-channel (RGB) decoder translates digital DMX signals from an LED color controller or DMX software into an analog signal that commands LED fixtures.

This Decoder works with 5V DC, 12V DC, and 24V DC LED lighting fixtures, and features one output each for the Red, Green, Blue, and common positive channels of an RGB LED strip light or light bar; positive and negative inputs for a 5V-24V DC power supply; one input and one output data port each of the RJ45 DMX-512 type, and XLR type input/output ports, all for connection to lighting control software or to one of our DMX Controllers. This XLR DMX Decoder also includes a DIP switch for assigning the binary value of the DMX-512 signal for receiving data and for choosing from 256 levels of brightness.

Each RGB Decoder includes two XLR jacks, one male one female, for connecting to the data cables of your choice (not included) of a custom length for your LED installation. This user-friendly RGB decoder is the key to an exciting multi-color LED lighting setup in a club, restaurant, bar, performance hall, or special event; or in a home lighting installation that needs a splash of color to set a mood and create a celebration.

  1. Hi, the bit about the DIP switch setting the brightness level is confusing me! It's not clear whether this unit actually provides DMX-controlled dimming levels on each of the four channels, or whether it's just an on/off control.Which is it? Thanks!

The DMX Decoder with XLR has two modes determined by the position of DIP switch 10. If switch (FUN) is OFF, then it will receive 4 channels of DMX starting at the address determined by the binary value of switches 1-9. If switch (FUN) is ON, then it runs some built-in programs determined by the positions of switches 1-9. So yes, it does provide four channels of DMX-controlled dimming so long as the last DIP switch is in the OFF position.
