Last year's model of the Brighter LED Light Bar is on sale at clearance prices. This older model differs from the newer version only in the size of the connector and may differ in color temperature from the newer model. Although the connector style is the same, the plug size of this older model is different from the current model and the two models are not compatible with each other. This clearance light bar will not connect directly to a newer model light bar and it will not work with any of our current accessories that feature waterproof plugs. After cutting off one waterproof plug to expose two bare wires, this bar is can be powered in two ways: connect directly to a 12V Driver using our wire connecting products, or use a female DC Wire Plug or female 12V Adapter Splice Cable to connect the wires to a 12V Adapter. These DC plug accessories also make this bar compatible with the rest of our family of DC plug accessories.
The Brighter Light Bar is a super bright LED tube whose energy usage is only 1.2 watts per fixture. The Brighter Bar contains advanced tri-chip technology, making each LED bulb three times brighter than a standard LED. And its compact size makes it fit into almost any space, while retaining the same adjustability. The included mounting clips allow you to position the bar at just the angle you need. This under cabinet light bar makes an excellent replacement light fixture for a fluorescent tube. Being green has never been this simple!

20" Neutral white bar
I am very pleased with these bars. The light spectrum is great for interior lighting in my RV. The light output of the 20" bar at 120 degree angle works great for overhead accent lighting using solar powered, 12v battery power. The waterproof solder connectors and the snap in mounts make installation a breeze. Overall, a great product!

In my undercabinet kitchen light project, how do I bridge distances between the driver and the first light bar, and between individual light bars? From the driver to the first light bar the power must travel 8 feet. From the first light bar to the second light bar, the power must run 15 feet in a path that takes it through the cabinets, up into the ceiling, and back down into the next run of cabinets.
In this case we recommend using 18-gauge lamp wire, cut to the specific lengths of the gaps that you need to bridge. You can then simply splice the wire to the start of your light bars. Using our "solder pair" connectors would give you a bit more length on the wires protruding from the light bars, which you can then route up into your cabinets. We also offer a 16' light bar extension cable and you can modify the length if desired. -
Is this light bar dimmable?

I would need 4 of these bars for under my kitchen cabinets, 2 on each side. They would be approx. 6' apart. Can you tell me exactly what I would need to buy to make this work? Thanks!

which tells you what you need for an undercabinet light bar installation. The sample kit in that tutorial is actually a kitchen under cabinet setup with a sink between the cabinets, just like yours! -
Can I use a 120V dimmable switch to control a plug under the cabinet, where I will plug your power supply or driver? Which would be better, a driver or a power supply?
You can use a 120V AC dimmer switch if you use one of our 12V Dimmable Drivers. Please see the Dimmable Driver page for guidelines about exactly what kind of 120V switch to use. You can also dim these bars with a 12V Adapter and one of our Inline Dimmer Switches. A third option is to use our 12V Reign Dimmer, which fits into a standard wall outlet, together with a 12V Indoor/Outdoor Driver. Whichever you choose, remember that these bars always need a 12V power source and can not directly connect to 120V AC power. -
Can this unit be installed in a van (direct wired). What effect does low temperature have on the unit?
If the power in the van is a steady 12V DC, these can be installed safely. Fluctuations in voltage can shorten the life of the LEDs. Extermely low temperatures aren't necessarily good for LEDs, but a cooler temperature is generally better than a high temperature for the life expectancy and performance of LEDs.
