The LED Dome Light is the ideal replacement for automobile interior lights. Just as with conventional LED lighting, the LED dome light consumes fractions of the amount of electricity that a typical car’s dome light will. And the manufacturing of these LED lights produces far less pollution than that of incandescent bulbs. The upgraded efficiency and reduced environmental impact have numerous benefits, but where this car LED light really shines is in its increased brightness and longer lifespan.

All our LED dome lights offer more luminosity than standard incandescent vehicle lighting. They are also rated to a lifetime of 50,000 hours providing dramatically increased reliability. With their low energy consumption and long life, LED dome lights can be left on for a longer period of time without draining the car's battery and without the likelihood that the bulb will die.

The LED dome light has an adhesive backing for quick mounting, and it comes with seven types of light fixture connectors (dummy bulbs) to accommodate most vehicle makes, and these connectors are easy to use so installation is a snap. Available in both warm white and neutral white, these lighting modules are great for retrofits and automotive upgrades.

The bulb sizes included are :

  • 194/168/T10
  • BA9S Bayonet

  1. How well do these do in very hot conditions? I live in Texas, and when I open the car door after it has been sitting in the sun the registered temp inside the car is often over 160 F. (you can't even touch the steering wheel until it cools a little). I don't know for sure how hot... the thermometer I have hits the peg at 160..... I don't want an LED to fail just because it is on when the door opens on the hottest day of the year..... Obviously, the A/C will be running full blast as soon as the car starts, but it will be quite hot behind that dome light cover for quite a while.....

Just as a reference... I left a travel coffee mug on the dash board (with a black "cover"), and could only sip it as it was too hot to drink after 4 hours in the sun on Saturday (April)...

LEDs perform better in cool temperatures better than warm temperatures, and keeping LEDs cool is best for getting the longest life out of them. But, as far as we know, the environment the LEDs operate in has much more of an effect when they're on than when off. Your car dome is also not in direct sun, so there should be no problem using this dome light. (You might consider moving somewhere cooler though!)
  2. So, what exactly am I buying for my $23 or $25? Something to replace the bulb in my existing dome light or a new fixture or what? I am confused by the dummy items you show on this page - do I need them and if so, how do you know which ones I need?

Each price denotes the size of the dome lights. $22.99 = 1.5" x 1", $24.99 = 1.6" x1.6", and $25.99 = 2" x 2". These are to replace the light in your existing dome light. There is no housing included. These Dome Lights come with four adapter plugs to fit into almost any cars dome light wiring.
All you will need to do is remove the housing from your dome light, measure the inside to see what size you need. Then when you get the replacement light, use the appropriate plug to wire it in, then put the housing back on.
  3. I am thinking of putting an LED light to replace the incandescent light I have in my rear tonneau cover on my truck. You speak of dummy lights? When I purchase this LED do I have to order for the specific light or do I get all of the 7 possible options? I'm confused. Is the cost of the whole unit including LED , 22+ dollars?

"Dummy Bulbs" is just a reference to the 4 separate plug adapters that come with the Dome Light. These adapters allow you to "plug in" or wire the light into the existing dome light housing. Each price, ($22.99, $24.99, and $25.99) includes the light itself, and the 4 connectors.
