Sold by the spool, our Brighter Waterproof Flexible LED Light's low profile allows use in many discreet locations. This flat waterproof LED tape emits light in all directions with a 120  beam angle. The Flexible LED Light is designed to cast no shadows and boasts a desirable seamless glow. The Brighter Flexible LED Light is a very bright strip that uses higher power (3 chip) LEDs, enabling a greater light output of 110-130 lumens, nearly twice as bright as the standard Flexible LED Light Strip. There is a new LED every 1.2 inches and each foot comes with 9 High output LEDs and uses only 2.16 watts per one foot.

This high-intensity LED lighting is ideal for cove lighting, interior lighting, exhibit lighting, kitchen-cabinet lighting, project lighting, and any sort of close application task lighting. And since this Flexible Light is waterproof, our customers have found this product to be useful around fountains, pools, water slides, greenhouses, and garden lighting.

Despite its brightness, the low energy consumption of this strip means not only saving money, it can also translate to an elimination of electrical shock and fire danger. This solid state Light Strip lasts for over 50,000 hours which is 8 years if left constantly on. And all of Elemental's products, including this Flexible LED Strip Light, hold the prestigious ROHS certificate, which ensures that no environmentally harmful components were used in manufacturing.

  1. Great Under Cabinet Lighting

This is an excellent choice for undercabinet lights with a very low profile they are hidden. They highlight my tile backsplash with a bright but evenly dispersed light. I was afraid the warm white would look yellow but they are a nice white color.

  1. How is the SKU: EL-IMGBRTWPRIB12VSP strip normally fastened to the underside of cabinets?

Our Brighter Waterproof LED Strip Light spools can be fastened using several methods:

    1. Spools come standard with several small mounting clips that can be fixed in place with glue, screws, or nails.
    2. You can purchase a length of our 3M double-sided foam tape to provide a firm hold to your cabinets.
    3. Get creative. The options listed above are the most common methods, but if you have another idea - run with it.
  2. Does the brighter waterproof LED lighting in the 9.5' spool come with the 3M backing adhesive. You only show the 3M tape on the longer 16' spool....Thanks

Our waterproof flexible LED strips are sold without an adhesive backing pre-installed. These strips can be installed using our waterproof strip mounting clips or with our 3M double-stick foam tape (or you can use your own method, if you prefer).
  3. Can the brighter waterproof LED be mounted outside, i.e.: under the beams of a trellis patio structure?

Yes, it can. In fact, this would be an ideal application for it, as it will not be over-exposed to the direct UV radiation from the sun.
  4. We are looking for LED lighting for our newly renovated country kitchen. We already have the under cabinets wired each for separate switches with direct hookup. We also would like to hook up to a dimmer switch. Can we use a traditional dimmer? Can your strip lights work here? We need about 3-4 ft. of lighting area under each of the two cabinet sections. Would we need to order the waterproof ones for the kitchen cabinets? Our upper cabinets are not located directly over the sink area, only in the corners under our two upper lazy susan units. What accessories would we need to complete the job for our electrician?

    Hello Betty and Dave!

If you think there will be splashing from food preparation, you might go with the waterproof strips, but it sounds like non-waterproof strips will be fine. If you want to use a hard-wired 12V driver, our strip lights are dimmable with household dimmers, and this installation can be achieved in two ways: 1) Power the strips with one of our TechnoMagnet drivers and a "magnetic low voltage dimmer switch" that's rated for 12V DC or 2) power the strips with our Foster 60W Dimmable driver, which is used with a 120V AC dimmer switch. Both types of dimmer are easy to find at a lighting or home improvement store in a brand such as Lutron. Each non-waterproof strip section is connected to the driver with the Flexible LED Strip Light Splice Connector, and we sell 18/2 Lamp Wire to make an extension between strip and power source.

You can also use a plug-in adapter and our 12V Inline Dimmer Switch for a small installation like this. For this you would need (in order from wall outlet to strip), a 24W Plug-In Adapter, a 12V Inline Dimmer, a DC 2-Way Splitter, two Flexible LED Strip Light DC Plug Connectors, and the non-waterproof LED strip light.
  5. Can I solider the Red(+) and Black (-) from a 12VDC driver directly to the solider points on the LED strip? If so, what points do they match up with? I noticed on the LED strip there are four solider points labeled V+, G, R, and B. Thanks.

Yes, you can solder as you've described. You will want to solder the red wire from the driver to the + pad on the strip, and the black wire from the driver will need to be soldered to the remaining three pads (the G, R, B).
  6. Can the LED strips be made to do like this one in this video?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JD9fEeBfydE
If so, I would like to learn more about them. Thank you!

We do offer waterproof and non-waterproof Color-Changing LED Strip Light (the strip on this page is single color). But it is not designed for chase light effects (where the colors or patterns move up and down the length of the strip). However, we are developing a color-changing LED strip that will be released this year that can do everything in the video: sign up for our mailing list at the bottom of the page to be the first to know when it comes out!
  7. Can you paint the non-lighting portion of the strip? I was thinking of installing the strip directly to the ceiling but want it to blend in more and thought that painting the non-lighting portion of the strip would accomplish this effect.

We cannot recommend painting the strip in any way as it will void the warranty on the strip. This raises a good question though, and although we cannot see how paint would adversely affect our strips, we have not tested it yet, so cannot guarantee the longevity of the lights.
  8. I have a 7' x 11' kitchen, and I'm interested in replacing the ceiling lighting with 2 LED strips, running parallel, about 5' long each. Does this seem sensible to you, and what kind of strips would you recommend?
    (Your website is terrific...)
    Mark

The High Density and Brighter Strips are both popular, very bright and also dimmable. The Brighter Waterproof Strip might be best, as the silicone housing will protect the strip from dust and humidity. Thanks for the complement, glad you enjoy the site!
  9. I just purchased the 16 foot spool. My cabinets have a small divider/lip between them, this does not allow me to put the lights flush all around. How do you recommend installing the lights?

If this is non-waterproof flexible strip, it might work to adhere the strip so it conforms to the lip. If it's waterproof strip and the lip has no structural value, you could cut a notch or drill a hole to accommodate the strip. If you don't want to cut into the lip, you would need to cut the strip into sections and solder wire sections between them.
