We all know that sitting under fluorescent tube lights is not exactly a good time. They’re hard on your eyes, they’re unflattering, and the light they emit is usually greenish and dim. But, fluorescent tube lights are the main form of illumination for a lot of businesses across the country, including office spaces, grocery stores, malls and more. So if these businesses want to switch from fluorescent lights to LED bulbs, how can they do so without undergoing a costly overhaul of their lighting system? When comparing LED tubes to fluorescent tubes, it’s easy to see that there are a lot of benefits to choosing LEDs. First of all, LED tubes will last twice as long as fluorescent tubes, though they do cost a little bit more. This cost will be recouped after a couple of years though, since replacement costs will be negligable. Also, LED tubes do not cause dangerous heat build up, are more energy efficient than fluorescents, do not require a ballast to power and do not contain hazardous materials like mercury.
