This 5 Piece Cree Dimmable LED Puck Light Kit emphasizes energy efficiency and quality. LED pucks were designed with the kitchen in mind, but are also great for other difficult-to-light areas in your household – perhaps the corner office nook where you struggle with the printer or the dark garage shelves which cry out for light (can you ever find anything without a flashlight?). Whether you choose the kit in neutral white or warm white, you will benefit from the clarity these puck-shaped lights provide in every instance. Built from brushed aluminum, these stylishly-designed dimmable LED kitchen lights fit seamlessly into today's contemporary homes. The Dimmable Cree Puck Light is available in these finishes: standard aluminum, black, copper, light wood and dark wood.

This Cree LED Puck Light 5 Pack features superior and brighter bulbs made by Cree, the most cutting-edge manufacturer of LEDs in the world. Every plug-and-play LED light kit comes with:

  • 5 x Cree 3W Dimmable LED Puck Lights
  • 1 x DC 5-Way Splitter
  • 1 x Inline Dimmer Switch
  • 2 x 1 Meter DC Extension Cables
  • 1 x 36 Watt Plug-in DC Adapter

These Cree 3W Dimmable LED Pucks offer a long-term lighting solution and a number of great features:

  • They are estimated to last for more than 50,000 hours. Based on average use, that’s a lifetime of 7 to 8 years
  • They consume very little energy, just 4 Watts per puck.
  • They are RoHS, or Restriction of Hazardous Substances, certified. This ensures that no environmentally harmful components were used in the manufacturing process.

  1. 2nd Kitchen Remodel

We chose this product for many appealing reasons: LED does not produce as much heat as other type bulbs (this was very concerning when we remodeled the kitchen at our last house), this product seemed very easy to install, and it was available at a very reasonable cost. The lighting store was very expensive (2x the cost) and I could not find these in a dimmable form at the hardware store. We just had them installed this week (1/27/12)and they look great, are very bright and dim well. One criticism though is that for a recommending for a kitchen, longer and/or more extensions should be provided since all the lights must be connected to the splitter. It would also be nice to offer a kit that is hardwired, so a larger plug would not tie up an outlet. Overall I am happy with the product thus far.

  1. What is the maximum number of pucks I can drive with one transformer?

What is the maximum number of cable extensions that can be used between transformer and puck?

I have a dimmer mounted in the wall already (120 V). Can I use it instead of the dimmer in this kit to dim up to 10 pucks?

There are several factors that determine the maximum number of pucks and their distances from the power supply. Generally, distances of more than 30 feet will result in voltage drop. Putting more than 10 pucks on a single wire back to the power supply, for example, may cause voltage drop. But if you are installing 10 pucks in a kitchen or other room in the house, and you install them so that each group of 5 pucks is wired separately back to the power supply, you won't need to worry about voltage drop.

You can certainly use your household 120V dimmer with these pucks. You'll need to power them with our 12V Dimmable Driver, which are made for use with 120V AC dimmers that are rated for use with magnetic low voltage loads. The 12V Dimmable Driver product page has a list of recommended Lutron and Leviton dimmers.
