Our 3W Cree LED Track Light Bulb offers an earth-friendly direct replacement for halogen bulbs designed for close applications. This MR -16 LED spotlight has a tight light beam angle of 38 degrees, making it best suited for interior lighting tasks such as spotlighting a painting, lighting a countertop or table, and generally providing direct light in a single area. The base type of this LED track light light bulb is MR-16 and is designed for track lighting.

A unique heat-sink design reduces heat output, so you won't have to worry about fire danger from the 3 Watt Cree LED Track Light Bulb. You also won't have to worry about large power bills, thanks to this LED light's energy-efficient nature. It will also last up to 20 times longer than its halogen equivalent!

This LED light source houses a single bright high-power 3W Cree LED, and it's recognized that Cree produces the highest quality LED chips in the world and is the leader of LED innovation. This bulb's brightness means it can be located further from its subject than with a regular LED bulb. It is important to note that wattage is a measure of power consumption, rather than a measure of light output; the High Power MR-16 Spot has a light output of 120 lumens. Elegant modern styling defines this product, which is available in Neutral White and Warm White.

It also holds the prestigious ROHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) certificate, which states that no toxins or harmful materials were used in its production.

  1. What would be the equivalent to this in as a halogen?

LEDs are about 4X more efficient dependent on color and optics. Our 3-watt MR-16 bulbs will serve as a direct replacement for your 20-watt halogen bulbs. In other words, you can expect an equal light output from a 20-watt halogen and a 3-watt LED bulb.
  2. My building has 400 x 20 watt halogen bulbs illuminating art work. Is there a way to estimate the energy savings if I change to your High Power LED Spot?

You can roughly estimate the savings if you can isolate what you are spending on the 20-watt halogen bulbs per month. However, if you are spending $100 now, you can expect to spend 25% or only $25 once the retrofits are in place. The LED MR-16 bulbs will last much longer, too!
  3. Can I connect it to a 12-volt car battery or a solar electrical system with 12-volt batteries?

You can use this product with any 12-volt DC (direct current) power source. Your car battery will be just fine, and if your solar electrical system uses a 12-volt battery, then they will both work.
  4. How do these lights compare to the incandescent bulbs used in my house ? I also have some of the new cfl's that I haved replaced the incandescent bulbs with, which are better. I'm looking to the future when the incandescents are no longer available, I don't want to use the new led's that screw into the older fixtures. I figure that in the long run I will save more if I just change out the fixtures right off the get-go. But I see where I will need to switch over to a 12v dc system for at least some of my lighting needs. Can you help me? Thanks for any advise and or suggestions.

The rough equivalent to this 3W Cree track light is a 20W halogen track light. So the LED track light uses about 20% of the energy and lasts potentially 15 times longer than the halogen. The color temperature is the same as halogen, and the halogen track light costs about 3.99. You're right, in the long run, it's a good idea to just skip the CFLs.
