The 3 Inch LED Down Light is a great retrofit LED fixture for traditional halogen or fluorescent recessed down lights. And last year's model is now on sale at a clearance price! This high power LED down light can be used for hotels, restaurants, retail stores, and most other commercial situations, as well as home lighting, whether in a kitchen, dining room or hallway. This warm white LED fixture will suit any interior situation that requires a bright light with a narrower angle of illumination, making for more focused lighting.
The 3 Inch LED Down Light features four 1.6 W high power LED bulbs with an output of up to 350 lumens while using 6.5 watts of electricity, the 3 Inch LED Down Light is very bright and incredibly efficient. And it produces far less heat than a halogen or incandescent light, and has a warmer color temperature than a CFL. And, unlike some LEDs, our down lights do not flicker.
This down light is housed in sturdy aluminum with a white outer surface that not only boasts superior heat conduction, but is pleasing to the eye. The reflector has a white color, with a light beam angle of 50°, which falls somewhere between a broad angle of illumination and a spotlight, so you get the best of both worlds. This light's high-efficiency design and wide voltage constant current driver maintain a stable current. This light is for indoor use only.
Note: Do not put a cover over this downlight. This downlight should not be in direct contact with any materials, such as insulation, except for the ceiling itself. We recommend a distance of at least 2 inches between the top of the light and any surrounding materials and at least 4 inches from the sides to any material. Do not allow the power cord to be in prolonged contact with the heatsink; be sure to lead it up and away from the light when installing.

1. What size hole is required? 2. Do I connect directly to 120 (transformer built in), or do I need a separate transformer?"
1. You'll need a 2.9 - 3 inch hole. The lip of the fixture is 3.4 inches in diameter, so you do have a little wiggle room. 2. This fixture has a built-in transformer and wires directly to AC power. -
Can I use a dimmer with this light and if so, which ones?
This 3" down light is not dimmable. Our 6" Recessed Dimmable Down Light is dimmable, however, using a standard 120V AC dimmer. -
From looking at the picture it seems that you connect 120v directly to the fixture, is there an enclosure with the fixture? If not how was the fixture designed to enclose the 120v connections?
With this fixture, you connect the house power directly to the ports in the back/top of the fixture. So the connection points are enclosed within the fixture. This down light does not include a housing for mounting the light.
